A fun and humorously written version of a classic fairy tale, this short story is entertaining and well written. Sometimes life just doesn't go according to plan, especially in this fairy land! In spite of the focus being on the two lovers, my favorite characters in this particular story were the traveling companions and parents. Ms Jarvis has reworked the traditional fairy tale quest into something new but just as senseless, casting her beloved ninjas beside the traditional princes.
The end result is entertaining and worth a read even if I still miss the feel of the boundless, unchained imagination that is the most authentic trademark of a story teller.
